Hearty Herb Hot Pepper Bread (bread machine recipe)

A hearty  fresh herb bread with a bit of spice.  You can adjust your herbs and pepper amount to suit your own personal taste.  This recipe makes a regular loaf in the bread machine.

3/4 C. water (at 80 degrees F.)

1 extra large egg

2 TB. olive oil

1 TB. honey

1-1/2 tsp. kosher salt

1 tsp. black pepper

1/4 C. fresh herbs (I used chives, thyme, oregano and 2 sage leaves)

2 TB. fresh diced hot peppers (I used jalapenos)

3 C. bread flour

1-1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast

Add your ingredients according to your machine’s directions.  Most likely it’s going to be the wet ingredients then the dry.   Add the fresh herbs and peppers at the end.  (use caution with those hot peppers…. they can burn your fingers!)

Select white or basic bread and light crust.

    1. Thanks! You can also omit the herbs and just go with a jalapeno pepper bread. I’ve made it that way many times and it’s delish!
